SDMS Translation Manager window allows easy translation of the system into other languages. A dedicated designer is used, which concentrates all the prompts, windows and designers used in the system in one single place. New Languages can be easily added by the user, and interactively translated.
After creating a translation, languages can be assigned to users based on their sites, or for each user.
>> To manage SDMS translations
1. | Log on as a user with role access to Utilities > SDMS Admin and open that branch. |
2. | Click on the Advanced tab, and then click Translations; the SDMS Translation Manager window appears. |
NOTE The image below shows Hebrew.

3. | To add a new language, click on the Languages button, and select the Add Languages option from the menu. The system will prompt you for a standard list of countries and their language dialects. Click OK. The system generates the appropriate language dictionaries in the SDMS database, and the translation process can be started. |

4. | In the right-side pane, select a form. The selected form values appear in the left-side pane. Fields that need to be translated are Red. Double-click the red value of the control/field to and enter the translation. |
5. | The value that has been translated becomes black. If you translate a value that exists in several windows, the system prompts you to replace the value in all windows. This is useful for common control captions such as OK, Cancel, and Confirm buttons. Click "Yes" to accept the prompt. |
6. | To save your current form translations, click the Save Content button. |
NOTE To revert the form to the previously saved state, click the Reset Content button.
7. | To merge the content of the current form with the corresponding form from a different language, click on the Languages button, and then select the Merge Content option from the menu. Use this option to create a new translation that is a dialect of another one, when only minor modifications are required. |
TIP When reviewing translations, you can view the original values. Press and hold the Peek English button to display an original value.
8. | To search for forms and form values, click Search; the Find and Replace window appears. |
• | Type the word you want to find in the Find What field, and select the relevant options from the Search in and Find options groups. Click Replace to fill in the replacement options: |
• | Type the relevant value in the Replace With field, and use the Next, Replace&Next, and Previous buttons to translate the value according to your preferences. |
9. | The SDMS Translation Manager window allows automatic translation of values or entire forms using the Google Translate engine. Right-clicking a value and selecting the Translate Text option from the pop-up menu will automatically suggest a translation into the appropriate language from the Google Translate engine. Right-clicking on the Text column header will open a menu, where you can choose to translate the whole form by selecting the Translate Column option. |
