SDMSSTARLIMS SDMS is a Web-based Scientific Document Management System (SDMS) built on Microsoft Visual Studio .NET technology. It can connect to EMC2 Documentum and Microsoft SharePoint as a storage management solution and search engine, although neither is required. SDMS can track and store electronic documents as a stand-alone product as well as an integrative part of other laboratory information systems (LIMS). SDMS parses files automatically using pattern-match logic and algorithms that are independent of knowledge-bases or dictionaries. It can extract static data to a Unified XML structure to export and reuse data. The system reconstructs documents and their elements automatically - tables, pictures, keywords, and so on.

 

SDMS Data Acquisition System integrates with STARLIMS, a laboratory information management system (LIMS) used by personnel to manage their tasks in a laboratory. SDMS can also be used with other LIMS, using either web services or a dedicated API.

 

SDMS Data Acquisition System is capable of supporting a large number of users connecting to it using a local network or the Internet. The software components are designed as Microsoft Windows controls.

 

SDMS incorporates Fusion, a connectivity platform, which allows the system to communicate with different medical instruments. Fusion provides direct connectivity support for various instruments and analyzers, that are connected using standard communication protocols (HL7, ASTM). The software also includes an advanced visual communication protocol designer that allows creation and modification of communication protocols both on the physical and message layer with nearly zero coding.

6)Supports retention policies with customizable approval and sign-off processes.
7)Acts as middleware for direct connectivity to analyzers and other laboratory instruments.
