Translations are used when analyte naming conventions are different between the instrument and STARLIMS. For example, when capturing a result of an analyte in an instrument, the instrument may label the analyte as gamma-BHC, whereas STARLIMS has a slightly different name in the database, such as gamma-BHC (Lindane).
IMPORTANT If you have a result for an analyte coming from an instrument and the name for that analyte from the instrument is different from the analyte name used in the LIMS, the result for that analyte will not be updated in the LIMS RESULTS table unless you indicate the corresponding analyte name in this application window.
