Creating Templates

Top  Previous  Next

Using templates can save time and effort. When you want to create future similar documents, you can use the same template. Use Office Templates that are stored in SDMS to create new documents and upload them to the SDMS database.

>>To create a document based on an existing template

1.Open Microsoft Word from the applications menu rather than by double-clicking an existing document.

2.Click the SDMS Templates link; the available templates are displayed in the drop-down menu.

3.After a template is selected, you can either modify the template and save it using the Save Template button, or create a document based on the template and upload it to the SDMS database using the Save to SDMS button. Either option allows you to create a document to be saved into SDMS along with optional attachments.
