Import wizard allows the user to import previously exported packages to SDMS.
>> To import an SDMS object
| 1. | Log on as a user with role access to Utilities > SDMS Admin and open that branch. |
| 2. | Click on the Advanced tab, and then click Import; a dialog box appears in which to locate the .sdms file. When opening the wizard, the system will initially prompt for the export package. |
| 3. | After you select the package, the StarLIMS SDMS Import window will show its content. |

| 4. | Use the arrows to add/remove the items you want to import, or click Select All to import the entire content of the package. Click Confirm; the Import Resolver window appears. |
| 5. | In the Import Resolver window, make decisions whether to overwrite or skip existing objects. Alternatively, choose to rename the exported objects, and import them under a new name, leaving the existing item as it is. Right click on the desired item to choose the relevant resolution action from the pop-up menu. |
IMPORTANT Even though the system will prompt you to skip items, make sure you do not skip relevant items. It is recommended not to accept this prompt as a rule.
| 6. | Click Confirm to apply your selections. |
