(1A) Some system meta tags are available. (1B) Meta tags listed in FRPs (file recognition [routing] patterns) have been configured for types of documents that you expect to upload. This diagram shows three representative FRPs: Instrument, SOP, and Specs File. (2A) When a document is uploaded into SDMS, the system searches for meta tags using the available lists of known meta tags from the system and various FRPs. In the diagram, twelve meta tags are found (shown marked with boxes). (2B) In the document (2A), the system constructs a file pattern from the meta tags found. In order to find a match, that is, recognize a file type, this file pattern of meta tags is compared to meta tags from known file type FRPs. (3) The file is recognized. The search for a match found eleven of the document's meta tags in an existing FRP. This partial match is with the Instrument FRP, which includes a total of twelve meta tags. Because the eleven meta tags that were found provide enough certainty that this document is an Instrument file, the document is assigned the file type STARLIMS_Instrument, which is associated with the Instrument FRP. |
