STARLIMS applications provide the option to attach files such as SOPs, Method reports, Results documents, and so on. SDMS can capture and process these files.
IMPORTANT Without this configuration STARLIMS will not have access to SDMS.
>> To Configure STARLIMS to work with SDMS
1. | Log on as a user with access to Utilities > Settings and open that branch. |
2. | Select the General tab and click on the Enterprise Setting button, In the resulting dialog box, expand the SDMS category. |
3. | Enter "Y" into the SDMSINSTALLED Value field. This indicates that the SDMS applications are installed and integrated with STARLIMS. |
4. | Enter the SDMS URL into the SDMS_URL Value field, and enter the same value in the SDMS_URL_CLIENT Value field. |

These settings update the location where attachments are saved. The attachments from within STARLIMS will now be saved in SDMS instead of STARLIMS database tables.
In order to upload documents, open one of the STARLIMS applications to which you would like to add an attachment and attach a document. The document will be automatically uploaded to the SDMS and appear in the Incoming Queue application.
