Working with SDMS Document

Top  Previous  Next

After the filtered list of documents appears in the Browse SDMS pane, you have several options for handling a document from the list. Click the arrow next to a document file name to display the following options:

clip0099 Open Copy - Open a copy of the document in its original file type.

clip0100 Check Out - Check out the document to work on it. This will prevent other users from working on the same document until it is checked back in. The option becomes disabled when a document is already checked out. After you check out a document, the link is Checked out by you. When you mouse-over this link, two additional options are displayed, Checkin and Cancel Checkout, with which you can check a document back in after editing or cancel the action. For more information about checking documents in and out, see the next section Checking-in and Checking-out Documents.

clip0101 Save Copy - Save a copy of the document on your computer.

clip0102 Import Data - Allows you to import data from the document according to the keywords, tables, and other information defined using SDMS data extraction. For more information about how you can use Import Data, see section Creating a Composite Document.
Properties - You can click each of the tabs to view the following:
oGeneral - Includes file name, extension, size, who uploaded the file, the upload date, and the version. The file type and project associated with the file are listed as well as the permissions configured.
oSummary - Displays a few lines of text from the document and the workflow to which the document is attached, if any. To view actions performed on the document; click View log.
oUXML - This tab displays the UXML structure and includes the values extracted from the document.
