Office TemplatesWhen you are using Microsoft Word or Excel with SDMS Add-Ins installed and you want to base your document on an existing template (and edit it as necessary), you can insert the template by clicking the SDMS Templates button and selecting from the list of available templates. The Office Templates tab provides these templates.

clip0002TIP Microsoft Word and Excel allow you to work on documents and save them in SDMS. If you have Microsoft Word and/or Excel on your computer and you do not see Add-Ins in either application, you can open the SDMS Admin LIMS application at path Utilities > SDMS Admin, click the Advanced tab and after VSTO Runtime is installed, click on the available link(s) to install the associated Add-In(s). After you install a Microsoft Office Add-In, the link becomes disabled, indicating that this task has been performed on your computer. 1.If you are not already logged onto the LIMS application at path Utilities > SDMS Admin, log on as a user with role access to that application and open it.

 

2.To add a document to the list of available MS Office templates , click Upload. In the resulting dialog box, you can navigate to the folder containing the document that you want to upload.

 

3.To add a file, select it and click Open.

 

4.To remove a document from the list, highlight the document and click Manage Versions, and then click Delete Version.
