Views

ViewsFavorite views are filters that allow easy search of documents according to preference. You can display and delete available views using the SDMS Admin application under the Views tab. They can be added through the Documents application under the SDMS life cycle option. For more information, see section Searching for Documents.

Views can be either global or private. Each user in SDMS can create his/her own favorite views. Administrators can turn their views into Global views (and back into Private), which will make them available for all the users in the system. An example of a Global view is the default view, which is shared among all users in the system.

clip0002TIP Using Favorite Views greatly reduces the amount of time it takes to build common queries, and reduces the load on the server. It is highly recommended that you build Global favorite views for common query types for all the users of the system.

>> To view and/or delete existing Views

1.If you are not already logged onto the LIMS application at path Utilities > SDMS Admin, log on as a user with role access to that application and open it.

2.Click on the Views tab. You can view existing views according to specified names.

3.To remove a view from the list, highlight the document and click Delete, and then select either Shred or Delete from the pop-up menu. Shred will delete the view without an option to restore it, while Delete will retain that option. For more information, see section Advanced.

4.To make the view global and available to all, or private to your personal uses, click the Make Global/Private button.

clip0003NOTE Note that you create views using the Documents application. For more information, see section Searching for Documents.
