GearsThe Advanced tab provides the following features:

 

ImportExportImporting and exporting of SDMS configurations, such as File Types, Workflows, Office Templates, and so on, using an .sdms file extension.

 

clip0003NOTE Not to be confused with the Export step of a workflow in which files containing data such as results, parsed from SDMS maintained files, are placed into a folder. Monitoring application, the Batch Processor, makes the files available for upload to LIMS tables.

 

Logs ConfigConfiguring and viewing system logs. System logs can be configured using the Logs Configuration button. They may include changing an owner, deleting, editing, exporting/importing, creating users, and so on. The configured logs can then be viewed in the Logs window after querying by objects, users, events, and/or dates. For more information about viewing and querying for logs, see section SDMS Logs.

 

UndeleteShredRestoring or Shredding deleted records. Deleted records can be restored by using the Undelete link. Using Shred destroys the document, that is, you can no longer retrieve it using Undelete. To shred, use the Shred link.

 

Translation ManagerTranslating the system to additional languages.

 

Office TemplatesGrabber Installation of add-ins - Add-ins are additional applications that can be installed into your system, providing you with bonus SDMS features that greatly enhance your work. Use the Advanced tab to install MS Office Add-ins, VSTO Runtime, and Grabber application.

 

 

Search_button Managing system tasks such as document indexing, retention policies and workflows.

 

  about Reading About SDMS to investigate patches, and exact user environment. Opening this window forces caching of all the client side dlls (activex/xfdruntime), and if something is not there / version mismatch – it will report. This can also be used for investigation of errors in the system.
