When you're building a new PMDO template, you can copy and use configurations from other, already configured templates, in order to facilitate your work. To do so, you need to import an existing PMDO template configurations. The following procedure is the continuation of the procedure in section Designing the Protocol Message Layer.

2. | Press the Import button on the top toolbar of the Protocol Designer window; the Import dialog box appears. |
3. | From the From drop-down list, select the template which you would like to import into your PMDO from the list of existing templates, and from the Version drop-down list, select the relevant version number of that template. For more information about versioning, see section Versioning of templates. |
4. | Select one or more of the following configuration options to add to your template: |
• | Message layer - Mark this option to add the selected template's message layer configurations. For more information about configuring message layer, see section Designing the Protocol Message Layer. |
• | Message library - Mark this option to add the selected template's message library configurations. For more information about configuring message library, see section PMDO Navigation. |
• | Physical layer - Mark this option to add the selected template's physical layer configurations. For more information about configuring physical layer, see section Designing the Protocol Physical Layer. |
• | Table queries - Mark this option to add the selected template's Get Table function configurations. For more information about configuring Get Table queries, see section Generating Message Dataset. |
NOTE The imported configurations will overwrite and delete the current configurations of the template you are working on, so think carefully when marking these options.
