Binding Extracted Information to Unified XML for Multiruns

Top  Previous  Next

DRPUXMLMultiruns are documents that consist of a repeating structure. For example, an experiment that is carried out 30 times will usually include a cover page and 30 pages of results. Multirun documents are divided into three sections: head, body, and ending. Inside the multirun body there are similar structures, that is keywords, tables, and images, that appear in the same order. Runs do not have to be separated by pages. Several runs can appear on the same page.

>> To bind extracted information to unified XML for a multirun document

1.In the Document Template Designer window, repeat steps 1 and 2 of the procedure in the previous section Binding Extracted Information to Unified XML.

2.Click the Multirun button and specify the document objects to which you want to apply the multirun feature, as explained in section Multiruns.

3.Perform step 3 of the procedure in the previous section Binding Extracted Information to Unified XML. When binding fields to the UXML, you will see that the objects that were selected for multirun in the Multirun window (as explained in the previous step) appear with a mulirun sign. The multirun sign can appear in one of the following ways:
Fields with M-logo over their names are fields that are unique per run in the document.
Fields without M-logo over their names are generic fields that are the same for all runs. For example, some fields in the document's cover page may be of this latter kind.

4.Perform steps 4-8 of the procedure in the previous section Binding Extracted Information to Unified XML.
5.After you confirm your changes and exit the Document Template Designer window, you can preview the unified XML created by highlighting your file in the Incoming Queue application and clicking Unified XML; the Unified XML output preview window appears. In this window, click the Only One Run button to specify if the preview should display all runs or only the first one; the display in the window changes accordingly. Based on the preview, you can decide if you want to make additional changes to the XML template using the Unified XML Designer window. Use Close to exit the preview mode. For more information about creating/editing the UXML template, see section Creating a Unified XML Template.
