Using Incoming Queue

Top  Previous  Next

DRPThe Incoming Queue application is open for users with the corresponding permissions settings. It is used to manage document templates and monitor document processing. After documents from any source are uploaded into SDMS, they are displayed in the Incoming Queue application.

Documents entering the system's Incoming Queue, if recognized, are handled according to associated file recognition patterns and typically directed to a workflow to be processed. If documents are not recognized, you may want to create templates for them using the Document Template Designer window.

The Incoming Queue application shares its features with the Documents application:

The fields in the windows that list the documents are nearly the same.
Links with similar names in both applications perform the same functionality. The exception is the Synchronize to STARLIMS option (available through the More  Actions link) which only appears in the Incoming Queue application. Clicking this link manually starts a batch process to export, that is, move extracted data to LIMS database tables using UXML and import scripts.
Other links that appear only in the Incoming Queue application are discussed in the subsequent sections in this chapter.

For descriptions of the fields and the links in the window that lists the documents, see section Managing Documents. For the procedure to upload documents, see the next section Uploading Files using Incoming Queue.
